SDF 2006 Executive Positions

There are three volunteer executive positions open for the 2006 McMaster Summer Drama Festival. To apply, please email a 200-300 word cover letter and résumé to mcmaster_sdf@yahoo.com . The deadline is November 11th, 2005 at 12noon. Those applying will be asked for a short interview Friday November 11th after 5pm. Applicants should have some theatre experience, and be willing to make a sufficient commitment of time in the summer for the production and rehearsal process. The festival will occur in late July this year, post production will go into mid August.

General Manager
Job Description:
-Responsible for managing the administrative team. Accounting, Budgeting and Marketing of Festival
-Recruiting and Overseeing Department Heads:
+Assistant General Manager
+Volunteer Coordinator
+Promotions Coordinator
+Fundraising Coordinator
+Financial Coordinator
+Box Office Coordinator
-Liaison with University Departments
-Help with Organization of Press, Public Relations and Media Relations
· Cannot hold other positions within the SDF simultaneously

Production Stage Manager
Job Description:
-Budget Management (Provided from General Manager)
-Oversee Production Budget
-Run Production Meetings
-Booking venues and creating the production calendar
-Recruiting, Supervising and Managing of: Stage Managers, Assistant Stage Managers and other Tech Personnel
-Covering other Technical Positions (if necessary)
-Cannot hold other positions within the SDF simultaneously

Skills: Technical Theatre Background, Managing, Leadership



Artistic Director
Job Description:
-ultimate responsibility for quality and artistic integrity of each production and the overall festival
-oversees and advises all other artistic positions (director, choreographer...)
-be the public figurehead and artistic spokesperson for SDF
-act as the artistic and academic liaison to university (whereas the General Manager is the technical, monetary, and administrative liaison to the university)
-may need to step into other artistic roles when required
-Cannot hold other positions within the SDF simultaneously

Skills: Creativity and artistic vision, Acting/directing experience, Presentable/show leadership capabilities, Coordination/people skills, Negotiation skills

Stage Manager Applications Now Closed

Applications for Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager are now closed.
